A brilliant talent was lost with Sushant Singh Rajput’s untimely demise last month causing heartbreak among several fans of the actor. This film being his last one, serves as a tribute to the star.
The film is entirely based on the novel ‘The Fault in Our Stars’ and it’s the love story of a boy & a girl who are cancer patients. Sushant as ‘Manny’, charms the audience with his magical act as always and Sanjana Sanghi as ‘Kizie’, doles out a heart-touching performance.
This film has a slow screenplay and one needs to completely get involved in the movie in order to experience the deep meaning that’s hidden in the storyline. This film is not for those who are looking for the usual bollywood fare as the love story maintains a single mood almost through the entirety of the movie.
The film has a sombre tone rooted in it and this doesn’t work quite well. The characters remain in distress until the very end of it and it fails to invoke a likability factor. The film mostly works when you consider the sympathy factor that is attached to it.
Apart from the storyline, the technical aspects of the movie are handled very well with some excellent cinematography, editing & music. The supporting actors have also performed admirably helping to liven up the film’s weak plot.
All in all this film has quite an inspiring message hidden in it as the importance of life is explained well. However it fails to strike a chord among the normal viewer and is meant exclusively for Sushant’s fans.
